PPT on external hard drive

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question, but here goes.

I have PPT2003 installed on my computer. I have a external 40 gbyte hard
drive where I save all my PPT presentations. I would like to install a 2nd
copy of PPT2003 on my external hard drive so that when I want to show a PPT
presentation on another PC I can just disconnect the hard drive from my PC
and reinstall in on the PC that I am showing the presentation. Is this
possible? One important note: I would like the PPT to use the PPT software
(PPT2003) that is installed on the external hard drive and "not" the PPT that
is installed on the customer's computer because they may have an older
version of PPT.

Thanks for any help or recommendations that you can give me.

Afraid not Bobby, there are far to many files that must be installed and
registered on the machine. However you could use the PowerPoint viewer for
this.

Austin,
Thanks a lot for replying. I kind of thought that was probably the case.
If I install the PPT viewer on the external hard drive, will the PPT
presentation that is also located on the external HD use the PPT viewer or
will it use the PPT software that is installed on the computer?

You will have to fire the pressie with the viewer, either manually or in a
auto-run file.

You'd have to open the Viewer and then navigate to the presentation. If you
just double-click the presentation file, it will open in the version of PPT
that's installed on the computer.

Austin & Echo,
Thank you ver much for the information. You have been very helpful.
