PPT 2007 - Snap to Object

I'm placing small circles in a presentation (dots in a diagram), and want to
then join the dots by placing lines from (approximately) the centre of each
circle.

However, when attempting to place the line, the snappoints on the circle
always highlight, and the line snaps to the circle edge rather than where I
place the end point.

Yes - Snap to Object is turned off, as is Snap to Grid. However, Powerpoint
always seems to want to snap to the circle object. I've zoomed in to 400%,
and still the same problem.

Is this a bug in PowerPoint 2007? If not, how do I get round it? Do others
see the same problem?

Rob

Thanks Echo S - that's pretty much how I ended up doing it - and got the job
done. Surely there's some way to stop the object snapping in the first place?

You'd think so, but I sure couldn't find it.

The autoshapes in PPT 2007 have new connectors -- and the ability to be
converted to freeforms and use edit points to add even more if you wish. I
suspect that we got this new feature, which is very cool, but we didn't get
the refinements like an easy way to override the way the lines snap to the
connectors. Let's cross our fingers that it happens in the next version of
PPT.

Draw the line and let it snap to the edge. Then press ALT and drag the
end
of the line to the middle of the circle.
