PPT 2007 slide masters do not apply to presentation

Using PPT 2007 under WinXP Pro
I have modified a slide master. I am having a tough time getting the title
slide, for example, all of the footer, to the title slide in the
presentation. Ditto for other slides in the master. This thread is the
closest one i found to the topic; but it does not address my question. At
times PPT 2007 simply is not worth it.

If you are in Master View, there is one master at the top of the list. The
smaller ones below it are considered as layouts. In Normal View just click
on Home - Layout to chose the appropriate one of them.
