PP2007, problems with hyperlinks and looped menu page

Hard to describe so bare with me!

Halfway through a presentation I have 'brick wall' graphic made up of
shapes. Each is a hyperlink to a sequence of three or four slides. Once
complete I need to return to the brick wall.

My problems start when I try to animate the bricks, I need the brick to 'fly
into the air', the rest of the bricks to fly away(this animation is getting
tricky though I have 30 bricks in my wall, 10 or more clickable bricks - I
would love a way to 'break the wall' by repeating the animation not creating
it with one differing brick each time!) , and the chosen brick to land in the
foreground with text showing, then transition to the relevent slide.

I can do the animation (just!), however once I add the hyperlink, the
hyperlink acts before the animation - can I add a delay or make it an action
at the end of the animation ?

As an alternate idea I duplicated the wall onto a new slide, had a click
transition to the new wall slide, then ran the animation at the start of the
new slide, and at the end of the sequence of new slides added a button to
return to the original wall slide. However, this in inefficiant when I have
10 or so clickable bricks, I would like each looped sequence to return to the
correct place (i.e. the wall slide not the next sequential slide) on click
(as opposed to via an action button), or as a timed sequence. Additionally
If I return to a sequence I have already viewed I dont see the animation for
the second time - this breaks this possible solution. (its not rewound ?
however rewinding it on the slide spoils the visuals) ?

The slideshow will not be liniar, each branch may be actioned many times!

I guess I may be trying to do this the wrong way round, is there a better
way ? Macros ? (have never used), Delayed or animation triggered hyperlinks
? Custom Shows/Sub Shows (never used) ?

Any help appreciated, would be happy to try to upload this somewhere if
needed, apologies for the long post, and thanks in advance!

Not quite sure I've fully understood but I think custom shows will help a lot.

1,If you tick "show and return" when you create the hyperlink to a custom
show it will return to the wall when the custom show ends.

2, The animations will run on subsequent visits

This may help you sort out custom shows

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply, and the link. I think that I am 90% of the way there
- with one issue over timing\triggering the hyperlink!

Lets assume I have a drawing object that when clicked, I animate it by
spinning it, at the end of the animation I want it the hyperlink to trigger
(by going to custom show).

I can now navigate, and return (without the animation), but I need the click
that currently drives the hyperlink to a custom show to somehow trigger an
animation of the clicked object, and then when the animation is complete, go
to the custom show.

I am getting closer however!

Cant be done (AFAIK) except maybe some vba.

Cant you have the animation(after previous) run at the start of the custom
show (dupe of original) and then if needed auto transition to the next slide
of the custom show?

On second read thats no very clear!

I mean create a duplicate of the slide your linking FROM and make this the
first slide of the custom show but include the necessary animations(after
previous) and an auto transition to the "real" first slide.

The download on this page does something similar

Thanks again John, thats now what I have done and it works!- It does feels a
little ungainly but works well(same slide with a tweaked animation now exists
17 times). For future use is there any way of triggering a macro at the end
of an animation sequence ?

Thanks once more for you help (I have a new question now but will make a new
thread!
