PP plug in to batch load photos into a presentation

Melissa

I've spent some time Googling this, and haven't had any luck so far, so I
decided to post.

I'm using PP 2000 under WinXP professional. I'll be making a presentation
with about 200-220 slides with 1 photo each, along with music. This is for
my son's wedding.

4 years ago, I did a presentation using PP 97 under Win98se. I have this
recollection of downloading a piece of freeware/shareware that allowed me to
bring all of the photos (already scanned and numbered in a folder) into the
presentation. After all this time, and a reformat, I have no idea what that
software was.

I remember I had to have all the photos scanned and numbered in the correct
order in a folder. (I had a friend at the time who was a semi-professional
at this who told me about the freeware)

If anyone could offer tips or advice on a plug in or shareware, or even how
to do this in PP 2000, I would appreciate it. I know there has to be a
better way than inserting 200 photos, one by one.

And, any problems to watch out for? Someone recommended using Windows Movie
Maker to do this, but I have my doubts.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint 2000, 2002 and 2003 have a Photo Album feature that does exactly
this. For PowerPoint 2000 it's an add-in that needs to be downloaded, but
for PowerPoint 2002/2003 the feature is built in and available from "Insert
-> Pictures -> New Photo Album"

The PowerPoint 2000 add-in can be downloaded from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=55D24B47-C828-4141-
A8DE-9A459C63DB1A&displaylang=en

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
include additional features and options for bulk inserting of images
(without having to resort to VBA or add-ins), don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
