Powerpoint Viewer

K

Kevin Stroble

I made a slide show about quilts. It has 170 slides with
text on. There is music in the background. The size is 62
MG. It plays fine when I run it from Powerpoint. I saved
it as a pack and go. When I try to run it using the viewer
I run into problems. It starts out ok but then it starts
to have problems. Some slides show up as a black screen,
some have text, but no picture, Once it just hung up on a
slide and didn't advance. The problems seem to be random.
That is, not always is the same problem on the same slide.
Please help me!! Thanks, Kevin

Usually, it is a good idea to 'pack and go' to a folder on your hard drive,
then burn to the CD/floppy in a separate process.

Kevin,

I'd hazard a guess that it's a "resources" problem.

Generally the less you give powerpoint to do the better. Particular on older PCs that do not have oodles of memory and
fast graphics cards.

To give powerpoint less to do with the music....consider converting your stereo file to mono (that gives powerpoint half
as much work to do with the music)

To give powerpoint less to do with the pictures see
http://www.powerpointbackgrounds.com/powerpointgraphics.htm

When you're done you will find that the presentation loads quicker, plays smoother, and is generally more reliable.
