powerpoint-like freeware?

Have you tried OpenOffice? It has a powerpoint adept
 
Canon Mediator. Susan Burgher of this group has a URL for it.

You have to register it, but Canon no longer supports it. However, someone
here described how you can install it and get around the register issue.
Susan might have that info as well.

Thanks for the help. I was hoping to find a stand alone application but
I'm going to go ahead and get open office. I wonder if the portable one
uses less ram.
