When attempt to launch Pwerpoint 2002 I get the message "powerpoint has
encountered
a problem and needs to close"
After exhausting other options I reinstalled office and this error still
occurs. Do you have any lsuggestions of f=other files that might cause this
problem? My verison of Powerpoint includes the PFCMedia add in as well as
RdP tools starter set. I am using Windows 2000. Thanks for any suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions. I did try the second option. All steps wrok,
except the last one: when I look for Visual Basic Editor under tools>macro
that tool is greyed out and no repair is possible. If I do the repair as
Powerpoint launches, I am back to the same error message and powerpoint
closes. If I decline any fo the repairs, powerpoint will launch, but then
any of the other Office applications have problems (macros will not work,
etc.).

If VBA isn't accessible, try re-running Setup and make sure VBA is selected as one
of the install options (can't recall whether it was 2002 or 2003, but one or both
allow you to leave VBA uninstalled).

I unistalled Office, and re-installed it. The problem persists. Our tech
support person thought the issue was in my logon profile, and had me disable
that and start a new profile. The problem persists. At this point I cannot
launch Powerpoint. Is this some kind of registry problme that persists even
after uninstalling and reinstalling Office?

I don't know, I'm afraid. But uninstalling/reinstalling might not have helped if you
didn't choose a custom install and ensure that VBA *was* selected for installation.
