Powerpoint language problem

I have a powerpoint presentation (.ppt) that was created in France.
My Keyboard settings are set to English (UK).
I have run the macro from the microsoft web site to change all existing
textboxes to English (UK).
I have clicked on Default (with the language set to Englisk (UK)) to
set the default language to UK. (and added code to my macro, to do
this)
I have saved the presentation as a .pot so we in England can use it as
a template.

The problem that I have is that, inside a text box, if i do a carriage
return and then start typing, the new text is defined as being French.
Hence when I do a spell check, it looks for the French dictionary.

What I want is for the template to be purely English.

I have Microsoft Windows 2000 with service pack 4
Office XP with service pack 3.

I'm not cerrtain of this but the presentation as a whole may need to be changed
also. If you can send me a version of the template with all
proprietary/sensitive info removed, I'd be happy to have a look at it. John
Wilson and I worked out how to fix a very similar-sounding problem
(right-to-left vs left-to-right text). Perhaps the same general solution will
work here as well.

I think I have solved the problem.
I deleted all the text boxes in the presentation, and recreated them.
In the case of one slide I had to recreate the whole slide,
as when I was testing, about 5 lines down the page, the language again
changed to French.

At least one of the text boxes was a bit odd, as I mentioned in my reply to
your email.

In case you're following up on it, John, it was the title in slide 2.

The shape itself was set to UK English but the text in the box, or at least
some portion of it, was mixed. Didn't have much luck getting PPT to tell me
mixed "what?"
