PowerPoint, Jeopardy board dim colors

I've created a Jeopardy game using a table. There is no annimation so I
cannot use the Effects Option choice to get the dollar amount to dim so I can
tell which choices the students have already made after they picture that
box. Any help you can provide would be great!

You could put rectangles over the amounts and have them "triggered" to
animate in giving the impression that the text is dissolving out. If you

asked.
