Hi there,
I know its not the ideal way to create a homepage or website, but I have the
PERFECT powerpoint slide to use for my website. I know how to (in theory)
upload a ppt presentation into a folder on a website, but can anyone tell me
- veeeeeery simply as I an a total web newbie - how to make a ppt slide my
homepage? I have a domain, hosting etc, but I can't figure it out...
Thanks!
Melissa

The slide that will be your homepage needs to be renamed either "index.html"
or "index.htm" (without the " "s). Then when people look for your homepage on
the web, this is what will show up.
Hope this helps!!!

Hmm. I'm afraid I need web design for dummies :-( I'm just NOT getting this
to work... can anyone reccomend a good book?
Thank you!
Melissa

I don't believe just renaming your presentation to index will work. ISTR
that Microsoft makes a number of internal references to the presentation
(slide) name. I would be more inclined to save my web presentation as
index.htm/html from the start. That way all internal coding will be correct.

Melissa;

I don't believe that PowerPoint is a good vehicle for designing a web page.
You might want to consider saving your presentation as an image file like
JPG then insert that into your web page using a program like FrontPage or
Dreamweaver which are designed for creating web pages.
