PowerPoint Graph Not Plotting Like Excel: Plots as many separate c

I just plotted some bell curve data in excel then tried to do the same data
in Powerpoint. It's two columns with 39 entries. When I do it in excel it
plots it perfectly, but when I di it in PowerPoint it plots 39 separate
points. Did I change a setting somewhere by accident? Anyone know how to make
it one chart with the vertical colum data? It's an X Y chart. Thanks to any
help!!!!!!
 
In the chart plot edit area have you tried switching DATA> series in rows /
series in columns?
