Hi there,

I keep on getting this error "There is an active insert or linked object
that can't be saved automatically. Please close the object first." when I
want to save the PP slide that I am sure do not have flash components.

All the while I have to copy all slides to another new PP doc and save as a
new name.

Any resolution?

Info: W2K Server, Full Admin, Up-to-date patches for Windows and Office.

When you get this message, try Alt+Tabbing a few times to see what else is
running. You might find that there's an instance of Excel or Word opened to
edit content that's embedded in the PPT. Close any such critters and try
saving from PPT again.

If there's nothing like that running, it may be that Windows *thinks* there is.
Try logging off then logging back on again. If that doesn't get it try
restarting Windows.
