Hello,

I have a powerpoint prez slide with a photo on it.

I would like the photo to continue being displayed and then after a few secs
automatically zoom in a specific individual¹s face.

Is this possible? How is it done? (PowerPoint 2002 or 2003)

Thanks.

Do you mean creating a focal point that only reveals a portion of the picture?
You can use picture editing software such as photoshop to do so. For
powerpoint, draw a circle. Then, right click on the circle, click Format
Autoshape.
Set the color to No Fill.
Under Line section, set the line color to black, weight to 1584pt.
Click Ok.
Next, apply Entrance effect(zoom).
Set the motion path accordingly.
Is that what you want?

Hi thanks for the post. I think this is what I want.

Just to make sure we understand each other.

Basically if I had a photo of a family and I want to display the entire
photo on a slide - that part's easy.

Then...

I would like after (say 2 or 3 secs) zoom in on face of 'Tom' on the photo.

Will the instructions below work for this example?

Thank you.

Hi again,

Thanks for the post.

I download the prez - looks great.

I think I would looking for an effect somewhat different - more like what
you would see on a documentary film.

You will see a photo of about 10 people and then they zoom in on 1 person's
face in that group photo.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Emphasis Grow/Shrink effect can probably works, but the photo may looks blur
depending on how much you enlarge the photo.

Hi,

You could have two pictures on your slide. One that has the whole family
and one that has just the face of the person you want to zoom in on. Lay
them on top of each other so it looks like one picture. Then use the
grow/shrink effect on the picture of just the face. You could also have the
whole family picture fade away if you like.

Hope that helps.

Try usiung Photo Story 3, a free download from Microsoft. It includes the
"Ken Burns Effect" (pan and zoom).
