When I try to link a mpeg file to a powerpoint project,
when I play the mpeg in powerpoint, I can hear the sound
but no video comes out, only a black background. I'm
using powerpoint 2002(XP). When I try this on windows
media player, mpeg file plays fine. How can I make this
work? Any help greatly appreciated.

Eric

Where did the mpeg file come from?

What version of an mpeg file is it? (mpeg1, mpeg4 etc)

Have you tried installing the latest version of directx (9b)

TAJ Simmons,
Thanks for your help.It is already DirectX 9.0. I also
isolated the problem. It's an old Real Magic Decoder
card's software that's causing the problem.
Thanks to all who help.

regards,
Eric
