uploaded a ppt to our ftp site, downloaded it, and it will not read the ppt.
is there any way to open the file

Jason,

FTPing a file should not change the contents of the file.

Are you sure the file is being uploaded 'in a binary' format by the ftp
software - and not 'text' format?

As that may mess the file up.

Also, is the file uploading OK 100% and downloading 100% OK

Jason

is CuteFTP set to transmit .ppt files as BINARY ?

Have a look in 'preferences or options'

But as to Taj's other question: are you *certain* you transferred the file in
binary mode, because it's *certain* to bung the file if you transferred in
ASCII/text mode.
