Powerpoint 2007 themes

Baret

I am new to 2007 but have created a template with two themes, Master and
Alternative. If I go to view, master layout and click the themes icon the
two themes I created appear under the heading 'This Presentation'.

However if I click the colours icon my themes appear undfer the heading
Custom and there is an old theme I must have created easrlier under the
heading This Presentation. I want to get riod of the old theme and I cannot.

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

I'm a bit confused by your last paragraph, especially, but let me see if I
have this right: basically, you have an extra set of colors?

Try right-clicking it in the colors dropdown and selecting Delete. I think
you can do that if it's in the "custom" part of the colors dropdown. If it's
in the "used in this presentation" section, you'll need to remove it from
the presentation first by applying a different color scheme to the slide
master and layouts. Just right-click one and choose "apply to slide master."

If that doesn't work, you'll need to go find the XML file and delete it.
It's usually one of these places:

(in Windows Vista)
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes\Theme
Colors

(in Windows XP) C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application
Data\Microsoft\Templates\Document Themes\ Theme Colors

(By the way, a Theme is made up of a color scheme, a font scheme and an
effects scheme. That may help with the terminology in the 2nd paragraph if
necessary.)

Yes you are right that I can delete the ones in Custom part of the colors
dropdown.

I have gone through all the master layouts and none of them have the colour
scheme that shows up in the 'This Presentation' section applied to them.

I have checked the THEME COLORS folder and the only xml file there is the
one(s) I want. The one that appears under 'This Presentation' does not appear
as an xml file.

I think maybe the problem is that my original file was a 2003 template which
I then had to adapt to 2007. Do you think this may have caused a problem?
