PowerPoint 2007 macros: Is my VBA broken?

I'm trying to open a presentation with embedded macros, and I keep
getting this error:

"The document contains macros. Macro language support for this
application is disabled. Features requiring VBA are not available."

I changed my macros settings to "Enable all macros" and restarted
PowerPoint just to get the same error.

In the Developer tab, I only have two buttons available: Macro
Security and View Code, but View Code doesn't open anything.

Does anyone have any clue? The only kooky thing about my install is
that I only have PowerPoint and not all of Office.

Did you install VBA support when you installed Office? (It's optional at
install time.)
