I have a Presentation that was written in PowerPoint 2003 and contains Custom
Animations. When I save the presnetation down to allow earlier versions of
PowerPoint to view and use it the Custom Animations are not available. The
Custom Animations are configurable and available when the PowerPoint is
viewed and edited in 2003 but not in 2000. Please email replies to
(e-mail address removed).

If you mean that you saved as "powerpoint 97-2003, 95" then I'm afraid that
won't make the animations work in 2000 if they are 2003 specific. (In fact it
doesn't do much useful at all unless you're targeting 95 users!) If you have
users with 2000 suggest that they download the free ppt 2003 viewer or you
can include it by using "package for CD"

If you want to use only animations that will work in 2000 go to
tools >options>edit and tick the "disable new features" boxes.

In 2003, you have the option under Tools, Options, Edit to Disable new
features so that your presentation will run properly in earlier versions of
PowerPoint

When I do that the Animations that I can see in 2003 I cannot see in 2000.
So my only solution is to do a CD package of the presentation so it put in
the 2003 viewer?

That is correct. You do that so that what animations you do use will appear
in the version that is viewing the presentation. If you want to use 2003
animations, then use the package for CD using the copy to folder option, and
then burn all the required files to the CD seems to work better than going
straight to CD. You only have to do this once. in the future it is jus a
matter of copying your presentation to the creating folder and changing the
file names in the list and batch files.
