PowerPoint 2000 .pps and fonts

I am using a fancy font in my .ppt file and saving as a .pps, then emailing
the .pps file to another user who has PowerPoint 2000. Will it be a problem
if the user I am sending the .pps file to hasn't got that fancy font. Will
the font be changed to a similar font?

Many thanks for your help.

Yes, it will probably be a problem. If the user on the other end deosn't
have that font installed, it will be replaced with another -- probably Arial
or Times New Roman.

You can try embedding the font. Not all fonts will embed, but many will.
There's a section on font embedding partway down this page:
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00559.htm It's worth a read. To embed a font in PPT
2000 (thanks for mentioning your version!), click File|Save As, then in that
dialog box click Tools|Embed True Type Fonts.

You can test the embedding by deleting the font from your Windows|Font
Folder -- but before deleting it, be sure you've got a copy of the font
elsewhere so you can reinstall it! -- and then running your presentation. Or
if you have access to a computer where the font isn't installed, you can
just run the file there as a test.

Thank you Echo S

You have answered my question. I have had a read of the Microsoft
Typography web page and decided to use Times New Roman as I know the playback
pc's all have this font.
