Power USers Group - Add a member using a GPO

N

Nwtest

I run a script(Using net localgroup add ) to Add domain
account to my local power users group in all my clients.
I put it in a startup script and apply it in my OU using
GPO.

It works! however in some machines if flush the existing
one.Thats is why I didnt use the Restricted because I just
want to add the a new account to be a member of the Power
Users Group. Is there a best way to add it by using any
other tool.

I started to have problem also for those clients who had
Power USers access before..They got "Acess Denied" in
running thier APPs. As far as I know when you grant Power
user to users to install Programs.. You can remove it
afterwards the installation, be a normal users again and
they should be able to run thier apps.Am i wrong or ???

Pleas eadvise

NWTest,

Yes! There is a way to avoid the default behavior. Please take a look at
the following MSKB Article:

Also, this question is asked very often - both in this news group as well as
in the group policy news group.

HTH,
