I have a P4 3.06 with 350 power supply. I have 3 cooling fans, DVD CD-RW burner and lights in case. Do you think I need a larger PS?? If so, what size would you suggest I get?? Thanks

I have seen some 350 watt power supplies that aren't worth the powder to
blow them to hell. They "usually", but not always, come with a case
purchase. Now, if it's something along the lines of an Antec, I will agree
with you!

According to AMD's "Builders Guide for Desktop/Tower Systems," (26003A -
May 2002) a "typical" configuration consumes 183 watts of power while a
"high performance" system consumes 280 watts. I think your 350 watt supply
should be adequate.
If you really want to work through the details yourself, find the document
above on the AMD site. It lays out the math in detail, if you're up for
that.

Hi, it's also down to the quality and stability of the voltages that are
supplied to the 12v/5v rails, not just really about the wattage. If you
aren't experiencing any problems, i.e. games locking, blue screens etc, that
I guess the assumption is that you are ok.....
