I currently have a 250 W power supply, I need better.
I want to spend about $50 USD.

If it were free, which one of these would you choose?
Antec SL350 350W Power Supply
Antec True330 330W Power Supply

Thanks in advance for any other comments and suggestions.

You're making the right choice by going with Antec. I've never read a PSU
comparison where they didn't rank in the top 3.

As far as thost 2 choices, either is a good choice. The difference between a
350 and a 330 watt unit is minimal, so getting more power isn't really an
issue. Now, if it were a choice between a 400 watt and a True330, both
being Antec, I'd go with the 400 watter. But in this choice, I'd say opt
for the cheaper of the two.

Are you sure? http://terasan.okiraku-pc.net/dengen (rough translation
from Japanese available at www.world.altavista.com) has several
pictures of the insides of PSUs, and they specifically compare 350W
SmartPower to a 380W TruePower. They look very similar, and although
the Truepower has 9A high voltage MOSFETs while the SmartPower has
6.5A ones (#STP7NB80), current SmartPowers use different MOSFETs
(W9NC80Z -- whatever those are), maybe because the +12V amp rating has
been beefed up. I don't know what changes have been made to
TruePowers, if any.

You can get the SL350 in a very nice case (SLK3700, SLK2650, SLK1650,
etc.) delivered for as little as $60. See pricegrabber.com and similar
sites. You would do well get the case too.

The 350W power supply was $50 (USD) shipped second day air.
I bought the SLK3700AMB for $70 shipped via ground.

Fun fun fun.

I know your asking about Antec. It is a quality name but, has anyone ever
used the power supplies from
PC Power and Cooling? I have one called the "silencer" it's very quiet, just
my 2cts.

Nice power supplies, good outputs, lots of 4pin molex connectors, pricey....
