Power settings not sticking

I have a Desktop computer with Vista Ultimate

The Monitors switch themselves off (mouse click to wake) after 20 mins. In
the CONTROL/PANEL POWER, I can adjust this and save this setting (to never
off or 3 or 4 hours off) yet it falls back to 20 mins off without any reboot
or shut down.

How can I make the Power setting for Monitor off, stick?

Thanks

A minor bug but one I would like resolved in this great OS.

Vista problem, settings not sticking in power option, ---I have the same
problem, running a Toshiba laptop. I cant seem to figure out what is causing
it, it is not reboot, not sleep, not hybernate, ... go figure. I even
created my own battery setting with a new name and set screen brightness,
time to turn off screen, time to sleep and so on, but even then, after X
amount of time, either pluged in or on battery, it resets itself back to
default!

Very irritated.

How is the PC's BIOS setup configured related to Power savings ?

If you check Device Manager ( w/ Show Hidden ) what entries
are shown in the Battery category and under System do you see
a number of entries that begin with ACPI __ (Lid, Power button)

For proper operation, you may need to install/update the appropriate
Chipset driver package for your motherboard. (Intel, VIA, nVidia..)

I've seen more than a few issues with reversion of settings/defaults
but none related to a manually created Power scheme.
