Power Schemes + Recycle Bin

Alexander

I have a system with multiple hard drives, and I use
the "Turn off hard drives after XX minutes of inactivity".

It's great, saves electricty and makes the computer more
quiet.

BUT:

Several drives have been "turned off" and the user
empties the recycle bin. All hard drives "turned on"
regardless of what disk the data in the recycle bin was
on.

If anyone who fixes bugs in Windows reads this list, any
chance of putting this forward?

Cheers

Alex

Usually all HDDs are turned off and on at the same time when using
this feature.

Hi,

As the RB spans all drives, they must power up in order for the "empty"
command to work. You might try selectively disabling it for certain drives,
but that could cause other problems (like a file being unintentionally being
permanently deleted).
