Power Schemes Missing?!?

Loaded XP Pro 2 months ago on my Vaio laptop. Updated
all of the Microsoft file automatically. All was well
until about 2 weeks ago when I looked at my power schemes
in order to modify one of them. I made the modofication,
clicked on apply...then ALL of the default power schemes
dissapeared! I've not been able to figure out what
happened or why since.

Any ideas? I run on 2 batteries often and would like to
shut down my hard disk to minimize power drain.

Thanks in advance

Hi Clif,
I also have been having probs with my Sony Vaio FX503
notebook running XP Pro SP2 with updates. I have just
resolved a CD Burner issue, and now have noticed the
Laptop powerscheme does not charge my battery at all.
When I disconnect the mains lead, battery does not keep
the pc alive. It completely shutsdown ungracefully and
immediately. i am trying to figure this one out, but
suspect there's a SP2 issue lurking in there somewhere.
I will post back if/when I fix this!
David
