Power point templates

Our corporate office emailed templates for us to download into powerpoint.
When I open PPT and go to the templates, I can not preview any of them. Is
there a setting that can be changed to correct this?
 
Actually, I want to be able to preview the template before I open it. We
have about 15 or so templates to choose from, but I can not preview them in
the preview window. It says "preview not available".
 
I have found that if you load them and save them as .pot files (in other
words, as Design Templates), they will be able to be previewed.

Open each template, under File - Properties tick "Save preview" and re-save
the file. It will have slightly larger file size with the preview.
