Hi there, My brother runs Vista and is using Windows mail. He can't view
..pps files. I got him to download the microsoft Power Point Viewer. This
program does work on his computer and he can view them now, however, when he
clicks on a .pps file from windows mail it tells him he needs to associate
the file. So, we did that thru the control panel and it says the Microsoft
viewer is the default program. So what do we do now? How can we get it so
that he just clicks on the .pps attachment from his windows mail and have it
automatically run? Thank you to anyone to can help. :)

This did not work. When I went into the registery to change "Show" to Open,
the directory of "PowerPointViewer.SlideShow.12 was not in there. Now, the
program I am trying to use is actually called "Microsfot PowerPointViewer" I
think I have both 2003 and 2007 versions. Now, is this the same program or
do I have something different? Why wouldn't it be in the registery? Please
please please help! Oh, if we save the pps file on the desktop, then
doubleclick it on the desktop, it automatically opens up and plays, just
will not open from email.

1. Download FileExtInfo.zip from here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/fileextinfo.htm

2. Unzip the utility and extract the files to Desktop.
3. Double-click "FileExtInfo.exe" to run it.
4. Select .PPS file type from the list box
5. Click "View file association report"
6. Copy the contents of the report and include it in your reply.
