I am using Power Point 2003. I have a user that created a power point
presentation with narration. We would like to publish this
presentation online.
When I publish the presentation and save as html, all saves fine but
the narration does not start automatically when I launch the
presentation in html or when I change slides. The narration only works
when I click on the speaker icon. It works perfectly when we view it
as a slide presentation.
When in slide presentation, every time we change slides, the narration
starts automatically for that slide. This is what we would like to
make it work when we save this presentation as htlm.
I know this can be done because I have seen it at work while searching
the internet for an answer, but I have not found how to accomplish this
task.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hopefully the narration is in the form of wav files. What you need to do is
attach your sound file for a specific slide to an event on that slide. To
visually see and hear what I mean, visit here http://tinyurl.com/c3nf6

Thanks for the information Michael. I do have the sound files saved as
wav files. What I don't know how to do is, how to attach the sound
file to the event on the slide.
Do you know of any resources out on the internet that can help me learn
how to acomplish this?

I was looking at your site and that's exaclty how I want the
presentation to run, minus the ongoing music in the background.

Thank you,
Rey

There are a number of sites out there that can help all with different types
of tutorials. A number of the MVP's that frequent this site have written
books and have sites with tutorials along with links to other sites. I think
by asking your questions here, you will learn more.

For example if you want a sound to be attached to the Title Place Holder on
the first slide. just do this. and these steps apply to anything your adding
a sound.

1. Select the Place Holder, Text Box, etc
2. Right Click and select Custom Animation from the drop down menu. This
should produce a Task Pane.
3. Add and Effect, for this exercise just choose "Entrance" and Appear
4. In the Task Pane the Modify Effect (Appear) will by default indicate On
click Change this to either With Previous or After Previous
5. In the main task window, click the down arrow beside the selected event
Text1, Text2, Line1, whatever you have selected and select the "Effect
Options" and where it says Sound: navigate to the sound file (wav) you want
to happen with this event. To make life simpler, I would copy /move all the
sound files into the same folder as the presentation.

This should get you started

Thanks for all your help Michael. I didn't know that I had to add the
sound as an effect. I followed the directions you gave and the
presentation works perfeclty.

I am so glad to hear that. The directions sometimes can become confusing.
I'm happy that you could follow my instructions and that it worked out OK.
don't hesitate to come back if you need more help.
