When working in powerpoint, the system will unexpectedly locks up when
working on a presentation. This happen with any presentation. I have tried to
do a detect and repair, and also installed the lastest updates. Any help
would be appreciated.

Is there anything specific you're doing when this happens?

Do you get any error messages?

No, but it happens when copying text boxes between slides. Sometimes just
moving a test box within a slide.

I'm going to guess you need a printer driver installed, then.

See http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00034.htm

You might also try changing hardware acceleration.

If those don't work, I'd suggest deleting your *.PCB file -- that's the PPT
toolbar, and PPT will recreate it next time you start. You will lose any
customizations, though. Also rename *.PPA files (PPT add-ins) to *.PPO. If
PPT works correctly, you can rename the PPO files back to PPA one at a time
until you isolate the problem add-in.

There is not error message. It just locks up.

I have a printer installed
