power point can't locate "vids:dsvd decompressor"

The message means that you are missing a "codec" that is needed to play a
video file. See

PowerPoint handles multimedia and the section on codecs. What file is
giving you this error? Where did the file come from? Is it from your
camera? If you know the codec that was used to format it, let us know and
perhaps we can provide some download sources.
