power point 2007 compatible?

is 2007 power point compatible on office power point prior to 2007 for ex.
2006, 2005
 
What do you mean with compatible? Are you referring to PowerPoint on Mac
or PowerPoint on Windows?

i mean windows. can i view a presentation made on power point 2007 on a later version. or do i have to convert from ppt.

Oh ok..now I get it ;)

Presentation created in 2007 and saved in the pptx format will not work
with earlier versions of PowerPoint (97-2003). You either have to save
them as ppt (formally called 97-2003 PowerPoint Presentation), or
install the converters on the machine with the earlier version. As the
converters are currently in beta as well, I would highly recommend to
save your presentations in the ppt format when you need to use it with
PowerPoint 97-2003.

i figured out what i did wrong never mind. i just have one last question.
once youve saved a power point in pptx and burned that file onto a disc. When
you open the file on the disk can you change it to a ppt or are you basically
screwed without having to use a converter.
 
Just open the file in ppt 2007 again, and say office button, save as,
97-2003 powerpoint presentation, and save it anywhere on your harddrive.

the only problem is, is that i am on a different computer trying to open the
file. Im no where near my comp i cant just open it back up and save again.
 
Then you need to get the beta versions of the converters. You should be
able to find them from the office preview site where you downloaded ppt
2007.

In that case, you need to apply the compatibility patch to PPT 2003. See my
reply to your first thread for a link.
