Power Options

I recently encountered a problem with power options. The symptom is that
there are no power schemes to select in the Power Options dialog. Further,
all of the normal options are disabled (grayed out).

I tried using powercfg to import a power scheme from another system. After
importing (the /I option) the /L option and the power options dialog produce
no result.

I retried the above steps with reboots in between the import and the trial
to see the result with the same dismal result.

The powercfg entries in the registry seem to be fully populated with the
"standard" power schemes (0 through 5) but there is no entry for the newly
imported scheme which I gave a different name from the standard entries.

If I could get one power scheme to show them the parameter selection dialog
boxes would be enabled and I could do anything I wish.

I would really appreciate any help that I can get!

Karl thanks.

I have never heard of let alone installed a Trident Driver, nor, as best as
I can recall, install any other program between the time the "Power Schemes"
were available and when they were not!

So I guess I still need some way to install ANY Power Scheme.

As usual with mysteries "Bah Humbug!"
