I have my power options set to turn off monitor after 20 minutes. It does this fine when I'm logged into an account

However, when left at the XP login screen, the monitor never turns off

Is there a way to stop the login screen from disabling monitor power-off?

Is it the XP logo moving around that make it think it's busy

(I've heard the backlight is one way LDC monitors "wear out"

1) The moving logo is a screen saver and is working as intended

2) From what you say, you just use the logoff option and do not shut the system down, therefore as to what you want to do, you cannot do this from WinXP as far as I know. You may want to check your BIOS settings, usually under power options, and see if you can set a timeout from there for just the video. *Some* motherboards do have that option

My suggestion is leave it alone the screen saver mode for the logon screen should be no problem
