"Power Options" Do Not Turn off Monitor

S

Steve Behman

Attempts to "turn off the monitor after 20 minutes"only does so intermittently.

When it fails to turn off the monitor I go into Power Options select "one
minute" and apply that option.this, almost invariably, succeeds. When I go
back and reapply the 20 minute option monitor will turn off a few times but,
after that it fails to turn off the monitor.

I would really like to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas?

How often does your computer check for new e-mail? Maybe, if it checks for
e-mail every time period less than 15 minutes it restarts the monitor time
sequence.

Just a guess on my part.

many things can go on to stop the monitor from going off as planned.

like inadvertent mouse movement. try by turning your mouse upside down.

Hey Steve

There might be some application that keeps your system not idle
Power Options will wait for System to become idle & then will Turn Off Monitor
Try out a utility to Turn Off Monitor wheever you want
