When I try to activate PDVD7's "read it clearly" option which puts the
subtitles in the black borders in a movie, VPU recover resets my video
driver? Its an X1900XT Crossfire setup, any suggestions?

Try disabling the "hardware acceleration." I don't have v7, but in
v6, the hardware acceleration caused problems with certain drivers.
The performance difference is pretty minor (software rendering
actually gives better image quality on some videos).
