i have a router could this be why i can't install war2...and cable modem
through charter communtations....and i can't find my firewall....i wrote
another post earlier about if it is at all possiable to get war2 downloaed
on xp windows and if so is their a step by step way to do it....the game is
for ms-dos and i can't find dos on my computer....i am afraid to do anything
i don't want to mess up my computer.....can someone give me EASY instruation
if their are any on how i can do this....i am sorry for being such a
pest..........I JUST WANT MY WARCRAFT BACK.....and i don't want to
battle.net because i don't want to play someone else i just want it for
myself and i can't find battle.net anyway at the stores.....thanks Patsy

Hi Memaw,

I think the easiest solution will be for you to pull one of your old DOS disks
out of the drawer, boot up your computer with it, and use pure DOS mode
to both install and play Warcraft 2. Do not reformat your disk or install DOS.

The reason I think this will be the easiest solution is because Paul already
gave you step by step instructions to use DOSBOX, and even made a movie
of the procedure involved. I honestly don't think he can make it much simpler.

thanks Jimmy i am sorry but i didn't understand the dosbox i don't know
where i am supposed to begin to get dosbox.....if i knew where to start then
i could type in what he said....i know i have been a big bother to
everyone....i am a new mamaw and need something to relax when she is
asleep...as they live with me so i have just got a bit possive about
war2....yes my son had war3 and tried to show me how to play it but i just
can't i love the old war2....so again i am sorry....ok i couldn't get Paul's
video to work now it just did u are right he made it very simple however he
assumed i have it downloaed it will not download...ur right theirs is
nonething else u can do all so i don't think i have the
win32installer.xe.......also i have to have the cd to play the game so do i
do D DRIVE or C drive....whewwwwwwww.....Patsy

Go ahead and install DOSBox.

Is WarCraft 2 on a CD-ROM, and does it have a file called setup?

sorry for the delay....yes war2 is on a cd as far as the file set up it just
brings up the war2 box and says to install off of it...i can go to the demos
and watch them very good...when i try to download i let thenm find what is
best when it comes up test it says the sound card work good then when it
brings up sound blaster which it says to use i test again and it says
nonething i go through the whole set up it says its downloaded but then when
i put the cd back in and click on play war2 it just brings up the dos black
screen then goes back to the war 2 thing where it says to play and it
downloads in c drive settings but i click on it their and does the same
thing but it never downloads to add and remove.....i downloaded dosbox
good....now what do i do.....thank you Paul for trying to help me.....Patsy
