Me and my database administrator were having a hard time figuring out how to
get our database that was designed in access 2000 to work properly on access
2007. It worked properly in Access 2002 and 2003. The database interface is
connected to sql database server 2000.

The minor problem is we are trying to get the access database to function
like it did before the upgrade. Here is the problem the switchboard will not
open automatically at startup for some reason.

We can access the switchboard but that would be very confusing for our users
to go through all the forms that are listed before they get to the
switchboard form.

We went through the access options and selected to display the switchboard
form and it does not save the setting.

I have tried to create an autoexec macro as suggested by Karl in the
database design forum but the problem is all the options in the new "ribbon"
are greyed out.

Our company does not have the budget to pay our contracted database
administrator extra money for a problem that she should be able to figure out
without all the extra work.

I do not see what the problem could be so our conclusion is it has something
to do with security, because that is the only difference in another database
she designed that works properly with access 2007.

So my problem is the database does not automatically open the switchboard
form like it was designed to do when opening the database.

And two the autoexec workaround is ineffective because all the options in
the ribbon are greyed out and possibly if they weren't they probably would
not save because the settings do not save.

Could someone please assist?

Thanks

Yes we've checked the security configuration but it shows the same things
when we looked at them in access 2003. The switchboard has the
restrictedfunction security setting which refers to something in sql 2000
that I have no clue about and it looks like Im on my own with this for a
while my db admin has a serious family situation going on right now.

thanks for your reply, do you or anybody have any suggestions?

if you need more information please let me know.
