After installing SP3 I now have a mysterious CMD window appear whenever I
login. It flashes by so quickly that I can't see if there is anything in
it. I've used SysInternals AutoRuns and the only thing I can guess at is
Office Genuine Advantage. But that was there pre-SP3 and produced no CMD
window. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi John,

All installs of SP3 I performed so far have had at least one CMD window
on restart (some have had two). But subsequent reboots don't have it.
You state you "log in". Have you tried re-starting a couple times
instead of just logging off and back on?

Restarting the PC and logging off/on both have the same result. This has
happened on all 10 of the PCs I have upgraded to SP3. Yes, there are 2 CMD
windows after the first reboot, and they stay around for a few seconds. But
on all subsequent (over 5) reboots or re-logins, the CMD windows pops up
momentarily.

Is it a domain? Are drives being mapped through a netlogon script? Has
anyone configured a temp folder cleaning on startup (I do that for all
workstations I configure)?

None of the above.
