Possible Virus?

Just recently I believe I obtained a virus (from an
unknown source) and am not quite sure how to shake it.
In fact I'm not even sure where I should go for help.
The recurring problems is an inability to be able to run
any sort of Virus Scan. The CPU running at full 100%
Usage even with no programs open (this obviously slowing
the computer down to snail pace). I managed to reinstall
the virus scan and got it working fine but it hasn't
managed to pick anything up.
I'm not quite sure how I should go about rectifying this
problem so any help would be appreciated.

Hi Rachel
Go to www.mcafee.com and get stinger, run it and see if that helps

Just a side note: run Stinger in Safe Mode, which is more effective.

And if that doesn't work, take two aspirins and call me in the
morning. :-)
