Possible to remove "Links" folder in Favorites?

I"m wondering if it's possible to remove the "Links" folder in my Favorites
menu permanently. I constantly find myself deleting it, but it always pops
back up within the menu within a few minutes. Renaming it didn't seem to
remove it, and while I'm sure I'm just being hard to get along with, it would
sure be nice if I didn't have to browse through that folder everytime I
needed to go to another bookmarked web site.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!!!

It's still there. I noticed that the "Links" button is gone next to the
address bar now, but what concerns me is the "Links" folder that shows up
when I navigate to a bookmarked page by clicking on "Favorites" on the menu
bar and then running down that menu to my folders of bookmarks. Did I do
something wrong?

You can remove the Links toolbar - using the method in my first post -
however, the Links folder is a system folder and will always appear in your
Favorites folder. There may be some registry hack to kill it, but I am
neither aware of or interested in such things.

Open Windows Explorer | Documents and Settings | User Name | Favorites.
Right click on the Links Folder | Properties | Check the Hidden box.
