I want to know how to put a custom designed slide template into my 'new
slide' button, so it appears when I click 'new slide.' I'm not talking about
colors or backgrounds, etc. I'm very familiar with PP; I just switched to a
newer version, and I'm wondering if this is possible with the 2004 (approx.,
? .. the newER version, probably not newEST) version of the program. I
dislike having to constantly rearrange the text boxes, etc. on the slides
when I start a new presentation, then c & p-ing, etc. Thanks!

Xel-k'in-ha,
Not sure what version you are talking about, there is no such thing as PPT
2004, the latest two versions are PPT 2003 and PPT 2007. But maybe you have
the Mac version of PowerPoint. In that case you may post your question in
the mac newsgroup.
Microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint
In any case new slide designs are only possible in the PPT 2007 version not
in PPT 2003.
So I guess you have got to tell us the version you are using. You can easily
find the version by clicking on the Help menu, at the bottom there will be
an item called Info or something similar, click on it and you will have the
information. If you have PPT 2007 that will be easy to spot as there are no
menus.

Mac releases come out a year after Microsoft releases. 2004 is for Mac.

Whether you have Mac or Windows, copying and pasting seems like a good idea.
