It seem that even when the setting of Automatic Scheduled scan is turn off,
it still scan the computer when log in to Limited account. It's possible that
there some kind of issue on the scheduled scan on both Limited Account and
Administrator account since i never receive any notification from WD that i
haven't scan my computer at all.

Also i had some trouble downloading the latest definition when log in to
Administrator account and limited account using Automatic Update on one of
these setting: download but let me install it and notify me for
download/install.
seem to be having a hardtime detecting and downloading definitions maybe
it's busy but finally installed it on Microsoft Update easily without a
problem. this whole Automatic Update integration is a nice but user is really
frustrated.
can you guys fix the Automatic Integration thing so user can see yellow
shield on any account type, plus add a real Autoupdate and Any user should
able to download definition manually by looking at yellow shield. you guys
should allow all user to see the yellow shield only for the definition
updates.

are there any possibilites that WGA is causing all this definition update
issue?

WD seems to do scans if 48 hours pass without one being done. (It doesn't
tell you it is doing it and it doesn't warn you that you haven't done a scan
recently, though the home page always tells you when the last scan was.)
It starts up about 20 minutes after your next log on or switch on. I can't
comment on Limited Accounts since I only log on as an administrator. Can
you confirm that your Automatic Scan had been unchecked under Tools>General
Settings>Automatic Scanning. This is becoming a bit of a puzzle.

I said in my previous post that WD didn't warn you that scans were overdue.
Today when I switched on one PC there was a system tray icon with a yellow
shield to say that a scan hadn't been done for 3 days. Then it proceeded
to do a scan 20 minutes later. Something is working....but what?

Hello Balem,

if you have used Automatic Scanning on WD General Settings then
Automatic you use Scheduled Tasks!!!! Because WD put it there, if you
open Scheduled Tasks and under Advanced, Show hidden Tasks you see the
WD task! That was Engel telling you!!

If you have scheduled tasks turned off--Windows Defender will be unable to
schedule scans. It will, however, run missed scans 10 minutes after the
next logon, I believe.

20 minutes after the next logon if you have not scanned for 48 hours.
After 3 days you get a little icon in the system tray and the Home screen
has amber warnings.
