Possible bug with Alert feature

J

Jeff

Hello,

When Alert messages appear on my desktop, they do not just
appear, but instead they will scroll the entire desktop
from top to bottom (or vice-versa) and disappear off the
screen. It moves so fast that you can't read it and the
only thing I can do is try to grab it quickly with the
mouse pointer to stop it.

It will appear as if it is "sliding" out from the top of
the screen and then disappear behind the bottom border
almost like it is passing by a window (the window being my
screen). If that makes any sense. It seems to happen when
I open Net Meeting.

System Specs:
Windows XP Professional SP2, 512MB RAM, 3.19 GHZ processor
(32-bit) on an HP d530 CMT system.

I am using the "classic windows theme" for display on
1280x1024 display settings

Software: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.2 as default browser, IE 6
sp1, Office 2000 pro - sr1a, Norton AntiVirus Corporate
Edition client (7.0.1), Adobe Acrobat 6, Adobe Photoshop 7
and Image Ready 7, msn messenger, aol im, Ad-Aware SE
personal, Spybot S&D 1.3, Ethereal, NMAP, SQL Server 2000
client tools, ActiveState Active Perl 5.6, Winamp 5.x,
Media Player 9, HP Director software and drivers for
multi-function printer, Time Matters Enterprise 5.0 SR2A -
see LexisNexis software (Reed Elsevier Inc). *** Real VNC
Viewer and Server (which the software detected as a
possible threat, but it correctly identified its use) ***

Hope this helps the beta developers!

Known issue when the start bar is not docked at the top or bottom. We are
addressing this in a future release.
