popups based on website keywords???

I have a question on how popups ads work if it can be
answered or if you know where I can find out...

Could you please explain something I found on the net:

Text Keywords Targeted:
All of the following words on Web pages across the net were
being targeted for links to advertisers' sites. The various
keywords below were randomly linked to various Web sites
including PORN and online Casinos:

Rates, Internet, Find, Rate, Discount, Information, Java,
Computer, Music, Cheap, Love, Newsletter, Sale, Promotion,
Email, Las Vegas, Vacation, Mail Order, Search Engine,
Cash, Investing, Investment, Book, Purchase, Loan
Application, Sales, Free Casino, Network, New York, Love,
Warehouse, Privacy, Online, Garden, Cooking, Florida,
Holidays,Anonymous Email, Internet Casinos.

Does this mean that if I search on the internet for
information about computers that spyware/adware can
display a popup for online casinos or porn? Having had
Kazaa on my machine and getting spyware on it I was found
to have websites on my machine concerning online casinos
and free $150 from Onluck casino. I did not go search for
casinos but the info is on my machine. Could this explain
how it happened? Can this type of spyware that appears on
your machine change your favourites without your asking?
Any information on this topic would be appreciated.

I would suggest that you take steps to prevent this from
happening. Scan with Ad-aware(free)to clean out what's
already on your computer. You can get it here:

Doing a search for whatever, doesn't make popups appear on
your pc, however if you have adgates installed they
monitor your web browser habits, and report to advertisers
then you get those popups, they can also install trojans
that monitor your system usage, report it to advertisers
and then more popups, so to fix this get adaware and spybot
install and download the latest ref files, before scanning
your system. do multiple scans with both products.
get a firewall and try adshield, nice popup blocker..
