popups appear after closing internet explorer

A computer in my network has the situation where upon
closing IE6, he now gets 4 popups of various ads appear on
his computer. We have run a couple of spy removers
(Spyremover and SpyHunter) and it has not cleared the
problem, he has removed all cookies and this has not
helped. Does anyone have any suggestions.
