Popup menu short list

Recently I had to repair my WIN2k installation. After that
I lost one of the features I took for granted.
All the pop up menus (for eg. "Start"->"Programs" or
Favorities in the IE6 window) have lost the ability to
just show the most recently used few. Instead they show
the entire list. This, in my case, is quite long and
cumbersome to go to the one that I really intend to (or
frequent).
Is there a setting somewhere that I need to manually fix?

For most people it would be interesting to turn this behaviour off
rather than on... You might want to consider organizing the favourites
and the startmenu hierarchially rather than relying on the
"latest-stuff"-feature? But if you still want the clutter on your system...

Start, point to Settings, click Taskbar & Start Menu, and then select
Use Personalized Menus on the General tab.
