Populating and "IF" field from a drop-down list

I am trying to create a from in which you select one of 2 things for a drop down, yes or no for ease of explaination, I would like the next block to populate accordingly. It is a very simple true/false task, but I can not seem to get it to work. For some reason even with "Yes" selected it still reads false. I used this code from another thread posted earlier, but the form is still not cooperating. Any ideas?

IF {Dropdown1} = Yes "text for yes" "text for no"

The dropdown is called "Dropdown1"

I am trying to stay away from macro because some users do not have it enabled.
