Populating a form with a record

Hi there,

I have been searching all day for this but I just can't seem to find the
answer. I'm sure it's insanely simple but I'm just not getting it. This is
what I would like to do:

1. Have a button that says "View record"
2. When user clicks on "View record" button, a parameter query box pops up
asking them to enter text.
3. Text is entered, and instead of appearing in a datasheet view, the record
populates a form instead.

Thanks,
Christine

Christine,
first build the form that will show the data.
On the form or switchboard where you have your View record button, use the
wizard to create the button and choose the option to open a form and find a
specific record ( or similar wording)

There is an example of a button that does this in the northwind sample
database.
In A2003 go to Help on the menubar and choose Sample databases.

Hi again Jeanette!

Thanks again, that did the trick. I had all my forms built out, but I just
couldn't seem to make them connect. I can't believe it was that obvious.

I didn't know about the Northwind database, it's full of cool stuff! Thanks
so much for pointing it out to me.
