POPULAR WEBSITE WILL NOT OPEN

I am having problems opening one website:www.hsn.com - This is a website that
I use all of the time. I went through just about everything with Dell tech
support without having to reload my windows xp home edition. They took me
through ten (10) different things that should of fixed the problem but so far
it hasn't. I can access any other website but this one. Please help, I am
desperate. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar problem with www.walmart.com HSN works fine for me.

The symptoms I have are as follows. When first loading, the page is
blank, but the source file looks fine. When re-freshed I get a page
full of scrambled foreign characters. The source file is scrambled
also. Re-freshing again loads the blank page.

Report back here if you have the same symptoms. I have asked for help
here and also am working with Microsoft to resolve the problem. No
luck yet.

After reading your post I found another web sight that won't load
www.jcpenny.com

It appears that after XP2 some online shopping sights do not function.

If you are using Windows XP Firewll and another (Zonealarm Etc) shut down
the XP firewall and give it a try.

I could load both pages. No problem at all. I have SP2, too.

You should look for another culprit.

Don't know if Dell mentioned to clean out your hosts file. If not,
find your host file, make a backup copy then delete everything except
127.0.0.0
